Ideal Match: Intermediate handler required. Holly will need a handler dedicated to maintenance training, exercise, and mental stimulation. Holly is VERY strong. Not recommended for homes with children or elderly folks due to his energy level.
Personality Quirks
Stranger Tolerance: Holly is very social and sweet with people. However, if they are near our property, he will watch them, refuse to come inside until they are gone, and be aloof.
Children: Holly is friendly with children and polite. Can get excited and knock them over with his rear on accident (we are working on body awareness to address this).
Dog Tolerance: High. Very polite, dog social. Ignores them; more interested in handler, toys, sniffing, literally anything but does get FOMO when other dogs are doing fun things.
Cat Safe: Not yet tested (will be trained)
Prey Safe: Not yet tested (will be trained)
Containment Style: Impact-style crate or outdoor kennel. Holly is a working dog and does not like confinement for long periods. Capable (no longer does) of breaking out of wire crates and rotomold kennels (Dakota, Ruffland, etc.).
Health
Like many bully-breed dogs, he is prone to flea bite dermatitis and sensitive skin. For this reason he is on skin supplements, and a chicken-free food.
